BruSheff AGM Announcement
it's finally March! You know what that means? Its finally time for the long-awaited BruSheff Annual General Meeting 2015! It will be held In sya Allah on Sunday, the 22nd of March 2015, unless its not a feasible date for the candidates in which we will move it to Sunday, the 29th of March 2015.
Some of you may be wondering, what is an Annual General Meeting? I'll keep it as AGM for short, and its basically a formal(or informal) society meeting in which the new working committee will be elected for the next academic session.
The procedure follows as explained below:
- Positions will be open to nomination. Those who are interested in applying for any open positions can do so by sending an email to our society email. This will be further explained in a bit.
- You can only nominate YOURSELF! No anonymous nominations will be entertained. This is to ensure those who are applying are doing so because they want to.
- The nominated people will then have to prepare a short speech detailing their reasons as to why the society should elect them for the applied position. Nothing too formal is expected, but a certain degree of understanding of the society workings and aims is desired, as this is a democratic voting system where people's votes are important.
- As I mentioned before, the final decision shall be conceived by a voting system, by which society members need to place their vote after the elected person(s) have delivered their speeches.
