BruSheff Society

Salam and greetings from Brusheff, It is our pleasure to announce that Brunei-Sheffield Society (BruSheff) will be hosting the 2nd Brunei Yorkshire Games (BYG) on the 17th of November 2012 in Sheffield. Previously, BYG was only open for Bruneian societies in Yorkshire, but this year we are happy to invite all the Bruneian societies in the UK to take part in the games. BYG will only concentrate on a DODGE BALL tournament. From the previous year's positive response, we are confident that societies will be keen to participate again this year. Details of the BYG are as follows: Date       : Saturday,17th November 2012 Venue     : Concord Sports Center, Sheffield Time        : 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Registration will be opened on THURSDAY, 1st NOVEMBER 2012 00.00 GMT. BruSheff held its first ever Amazing Race on the 13th of October with over 30 participants and 20 volunteers. Participants were randomly allocated into groups of 3 and 4 to complete the tasks at each checkpoint. There are 10 checkpoints spread around Sheffield's notable landmarks; such as the union of both universities in Sheffield, the Muslim Welfare House in Goodwin and the Sheffield train station. The groups were asked to complete tasks like singing the national anthem, finding the Bruneian with the Afro and eating half a loaf of bread within 5 minutes. BruSheff held its first gathering for the 2012/2013 academic year in Sheffield on the 29th of October 2012. The event was attended by the both new and current members of the society. The aim of the gathering was to get the Bruneians in Sheffield to mingle and get to know each other.
