Sheffield: Fright Night

The Brunei-Sheffield freshers are especially encouraged to attend this event. Details of the event are as follows:

Always staged on the Sunday before Halloween (in 2010 Sunday 31st Oct), the roads are closed in Sheffield City Centre around Fargate, Barkers Pool, Peace Gardens, Surrey Street, Leopold Street, Orchard Square, Millennium Square and the Winter Garden for this ‘mass promenade’ event. Attractions for 2009 included street theatre, ghost tours, Star Wars Stormtroopers, haunted house, ghost train, Dalek and Cyberman, Hagrid lookalike, a fancy dress catwalk, funfair rides/stalls, stilt walkers, a samba band, food stalls, children’s activities and craft stalls.

In addition to the main event (3.30pm until 8.30pm) there was also staged a "Fright Night's Little Brother" event on The Moor with loads of halloween fun for younger children including a Harry Potter lookalike, Dalek, street entertainers, giveaways, childrens rides and much more.

Travel South Yorkshire encouraged event goers to leave their cars at home and get to the event by bus, tram and train. For more information (click here)
